The Vaughnberry “Silent Echos” Fashion Show!

Ruby Roxanne, the fabulous creative mind who has imagined some of our amazing hat styles recently partnered with Bryan Vaughn for the Vaughnberry “Silent Echos” Fashion show, a part of Fashion Week San Diego. Ruby was asked to help design some top hats to “top off” the outfits that Bryan was showcasing, and happily took him up on the chance to be involved with such a stunning display of wearable art. Having met in San Diego a while back, Ruby was always appreciative of how dedicated Bryan was to his craft. Never missing a chance to stay up working through the early hours of the morning, Bryan always gave his all. Bryan graduated from the Art Institute of San Diego, and quickly directed his efforts towards designing men’s fashion. A unique aspect of all of Bryan’s designs is that although many of them are designated as men’s fashion, they have the ability to be worn by anyone who dares to be beautiful. This particular collection, “Silent Echos” is Bryan’s Spring/Summer 2018 fashion endeavor. The inspiration for this collection came from a photograph that Bryan took, featuring silent, snowy trees in the dead of winter.

The inspiration for the “Silent Echos” collection.

Ruby designed 5 stylish couture hats for this show. Each hat was meant to complement and accent the outfit, rather than acting as the center of attention.

First, Ruby designed an understated, subtle, yet striking version of our Stove Piper. This hat is simply one of our collar bands on a Stove Piper, both of which can be ordered through our website.

Next, Ruby designed a hat band made of silver, snowy branches to adorn one of our Toppers, and to complement the winter theme of the show.

Ruby designed this fascinator with a white ostrich feather burst, with a center of black ostrich feathers to contrast the piece. This fascinator is finished off with a snowy branch in the middle, adorned with a white snowbird. Paired with a handmade Vaughnberry dress made of ostrich and duck feathers, this outfit was truly a showstopper. Ruby is working on adding fascinators into our line of couture hats, so stay tuned for more info!

Next we have the Vaughnberry “Silent Echos” top hat. Ruby laser engraved the show’s eponymous photo into a gunsmoke ultra suede leather Stove Piper, showcasing every inch of the photo in extreme detail. Finally, the image is framed within a leather embellishment.

This hat, named the Black Raven, is a Stove Piper adorned with black ostrich feathers, black diamond crystals, and a double satin ribbon around the crown.

All in all, the fashion show was a gorgeous expose of the intricacies of style and Bryan Vaughn’s talent. The Vaughnberry website is now taking orders so go show your support of an amazing designer and find a style that is guaranteed to draw eyes. Below are the rest of the photos from the show, which were all taken by 656 Photography and H photography. Pioneering the steampunk subgenre from the early 2000’s onward, Kato has become one of the biggest faces in the steampunk community. Another influential name in the world of steampunk is Katrina Wilkinson, or Rin! Rin is a model and college student based in Las Vegas. In 2010, Rin discovered the amazing world of steampunk. Rin’s obsession with clockwork and steam-powered machinery put her right at home in the steampunk world. In 2012, after following Kato for quite some time, Rin entered a “Cosplay Kato” contest. Rin was chosen as the winner and was flown up to Portland, Oregon where she modeled for Kato’s clothing line and website. From then on, Rin and Kato became close friends and business partners. Today, Rin’s modelling is used in and inspires many steampunk works. Her unique look and eye for style has made her one of the most recognizable and in-demand steampunk models.
